How to get involved with Grace Fellowship Church

Things to do

There's plenty of opportunities to get involved in different groups during the week as well as various events taking place throughout the year. Be sure to check the church calendar on the website as these get updated regularly!

Sunday Mornings

As with all our meetings, YOU will receive a warm welcome to our Sunday Services and there is no dress code.

Prayer meeting

We have a regular prayer meeting before our service starting at 10am that meets in the 'Post Room'. As C.H Spurgeon believed, a prayer room is the boiler room for the church.

Main Service
The service itself is from 10:30 to 12pm.

As a Bible-believing church, our main emphasis is the faithful teaching from the Word of God- the Bible, on a verse-by-verse approach as "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV).

Our music team leads us in a time of worship from a mix of biblically focused newer songs and old hymns followed by the sermon, usually by Malcolm our pastor, as well as our in-house preaching team and visitor preachers. During the sermon, we have a Sunday school for age-appropriate teaching, see 'Sunday School' below. (Throughout the entire service, there are creche facilities with live A/V link with both video and PowerPoint).

After the sermon, we have some closing songs and on the 2nd Sunday every month a time of communion.

As a church, we also value our time of fellowship, not just because it's in our name, but it's the pattern of the early church laid out in scripture: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42 (NIV).

This time of fellowship follows our main service with free teas, filtered coffees and cold drinks from our 'Caffeination Station'.

We also host regular Bring-and-share lunches every few months. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17 (NIV).

Sunday School

At Grace Fellowship we want everyone to know and be able to understand what the Bible teaches.  This is why we have classes that allow children to discover what God has said to us in a way they can understand and enjoy.

We have two age based classes which run from 11.00 am to 12.00 am every Sunday.

Key Stage 1 children - school classes Reception to Year 2

Key Stage 2 children – school classes Year 3 to Year 6

Each group will look at a Bible story each week and learn who, what, where, when and how.  The teachers will share why the story is important and to enable the kids to know what it means for them.
Each week there will be a crafts or other activity that builds on the fun and learning.
Our teachers are all DBS checked and have been trained in accordance to our Child Protection Policy.
We would be happy to have your children join us on any given Sunday morning at 11.00

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”  Proverbs 22:6

Bubbles - Baby and Toddlers' Group

For 5's and under and their carers, held fortnightly on Wednesdays from 10 am to 11.30 am

Bubbles is an opportunity for Babies and Toddlers to enjoy safe play, as they participate in activities both independently and together with their Carers. The Grown Ups can enjoy time with their children and opportunities to chat with other Parents and Carers at the Group.
Our sessions typically include:
  • An unstructured free play time where the children can use a variety of large & small toys and play equipment, as  well as making  a 'take home' craft item.
  • A snack time, offering a choice of snacks. Please bring a drink for your child.  All the children enjoy snack time together as a group.
  • A short singing & story time, which usually includes meeting Bubbles the toy hippo, a Bible Story, and a variety of well-known nursery rhymes and Christian songs.
  • Refreshments are available for the Grown Ups.
  • The final part of the session is for active play often with parachute games, a slide and various ride on toys.
The last session of each term always has a special theme.  We celebrate Christmas at the end of the Autumn Term.  We celebrate Easter at the end of the Spring Term and at the end of our Summer Term we have a Teddy Bears Picnic.
We meet in a large spacious hall, within which there is a dedicated area for babies where they can play safely, without risk of being knocked over by any enthusiastic toddlers!  We also have an enclosed garden which we can use on sunny days. There is ample parking for cars and a room to park pushchairs
Bubbles is free of charge.
Whether you are new to parenting and or more experienced, a mum, a dad, a grandparent, a childminder or a carer – All are welcome.
We look forward to meeting you and your little ones.

Ladies' Fellowship

The ladies group meets once a month and is open to all ladies who wish to come along.

We meet at church, unless otherwise stated from 9 am breakfast followed by a DVD study and prayer finishing at 10:30am.

Every 3 months, we have a social evening on a Friday or Saturday morning.

For more information please speak to Rachel or Esther Tanton, or contact: .

Men's Fellowship

Here at Grace Fellowship, we hold a monthly gathering for men which we call our “Band of Brothers” meeting. We usually meet on the first Friday of the month starting at 6:30pm. We usually finish at about 9pm. The purpose of the meeting is two-fold:
  • To discuss what God is doing in our lives and the practical difficulties we face as ordinary men trying to lead Godly lives and to thank and praise Him for His goodness to us. The discussions we have take place in an atmosphere of openness and confidentiality is assured. Sometimes we will listen to pre-recorded sermons and have recently been following RC Sproll.
  • To fellowship, have a meal and spend time together

Sometimes we may use our time together for a social activity such as playing golf or ten pin bowling so we could meet away from the church or possibly on a different day. If you would like to come along, it’s always worth checking with John Tanton first when and where the next meeting is going to be or check out the church calendar.

Salt and Light Coffee Morning

The over 50s group meets regularly on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 10.30-12.00 at the church building. (Outings, which will be announced, will have modified times).

We aim to continue with our varied programme of films, craft days, speakers, outings and games. Each session will cost £2 per person to cover the cost of lunch.

Outings will incur an additional charge to cover entrance fees etc. but this will be kept to a strict minimum.

Home Group

Wednesday prayer meeting and bible study are still meeting on Zoom. Please contact us for details.

Twice a month, on a Wednesday evening, Grace Fellowship holds a midweek home group at the home of one of its members.

These will usually start around 7:30pm and include an informal Bible study, (we are at present looking at Paul’s letter to the Romans. This is followed by a time for sharing prayer needs, of praying and time for fellowship.

Please speak or contact the elders for more information and location.

As William Wilberforce once said;

“There are four things that we ought to do with the Word of God: admit it as the word of God, commit it to our hearts and minds, submit to it and transmit it to the world.”
