Set in jelly or set in concrete/stone?

Colin is our preacher today and contiues in his series in Nehemiah. Our reading is read by Carole which is from Nem Ch 9 ver 37 to ch 10 ver 39.

In Nehemiah 8 we see the beginnings of spiritual revival and in chapter 9, a time of repentance and confession. Here, in chapter 10 we witness the people putting their signature to a covenant. For them, spiritual growth was not just a vague concept; they took practical steps.

The commitment to growth started at the top – the leaders led by example. It continued by understanding commitment in the home – for us, this means teaching about relationships and marriage for this is one of Satan’s most powerful weapons. The commitment extended to the workplace and involved their trading practices and finally, it encompassed their religious life, “we will not neglect the house of our God.” Challenges for us all.
